SUMMER FUN-tivity #1
Lemonade Stand
GOAL: This week you will plan and design a lemonade stand to run.
DAY 1
1) Research the ingredients you will need to make lemonade.
2) Write out the recipe you plan to follow.
* Be specific with the measurement amounts for each ingredient.
* Clearly explain each step.
DAY 2
1) Determine the total cost for you to run your stand. (Remember to include all materials and ingredients)
* You can use a variety of online and printed resources to research prices of items you listed on Day 1.
>> Here are a few ideas where you can search: <<
a) online websites (Kroger, Walmart, etc.) b) newspapers, magazines, grocery ads, etc.
2) Using your ingredients list from yesterday, calculate how much the ingredients will cost you. DAY 3
1) Decide how much you will charge for each cup of lemonade. Keep in mind how much it will cost
you to make the lemonade in the first place. You want to make sure you make a profit!
* For Example: Remember: 16 CUPS = ONE GALLON
COST of making ONE GALLON of Lemonade = $7.50
COST of ONE CUP of Lemonade --> $7.50 ÷ 16 = $0.47 per CUP
SELL One GALLON of Lemonade = $10.00
SELL One CUP of Lemonade --> $10.00 ÷ 16 = $0.63 per CUP
Your Potential Earned Profit:
One Gallon of Lemonade --> $10.00 - $7.50 = $2.50
One Cup of Lemonade --> $0.63 - $0.47 = $0.16
So, you can earn $2.50 for each GALLON you sell or $0.16 for each CUP you sell.
DAY 4
1) Create a slogan for your lemonade stand. Your slogan should grab buyers’ attention and
persuade them to come to your lemonade stand and buy from you!
* For Example: "Squeeze the Day with Ice Cold Lemonade!"
2) Create a Name for your Lemonade Stand
* For Example: "Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy""
3) Design a sign that includes the following:
A) Appropriate Colors
B) Your Lemonade Stand NAME
C) Your Slogan
D) Price per GALLON and Price per CUP
DAY 5
1) Design your lemonade stand.
* You can design it on paper or construct it at your house.
2) Include your SIGN and SLOGAN that you made to it.
3) Now, save it for the summer when you can run your lemonade stand!
